FAI Announces Exciting Summer Flight Schedule for Interior Alaska

(Fairbanks, AK) -  Interior Alaska, your summer travels just got easier! Fairbanks International Airport (FAI) is thrilled to unveil our summer flight schedule, promising a season of increased connectivity and exceptional service.

This summer, travelers through FAI will have access to flights from leading commercial airlines, including Alaska Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, and Air North. We are proud to partner with these esteemed carriers to offer a wide range of travel options to the Fairbanks community.

Delta Air Lines is set to provide daily flights directly to Seattle (SEA) and Minneapolis (MSP), ensuring seamless connections to two key hubs. United Airlines rejoins our summer lineup with daily direct flights to Chicago (ORD) and Denver (DEN), offering convenient access to the Midwest and the Rockies. Additionally, Alaska Airlines will expand its service with added flights to Seattle (SEA), responding to the high demand for travel between these two cities.

FAI is grateful for the continued support and commitment of our airline partners. Their dedication enables us to bring diverse flight options and outstanding service to our passengers, making summer travel more enjoyable and accessible.

The anticipation for a bustling summer is further supported by the cruise industry's forecast for a record-breaking season. This boom is expected to drive increased visitor activity to the Fairbanks area, particularly with cross Gulf of Alaska cruise tour passengers. Historically, surveys reveal that 41% of Fairbanks' summer visitors are explorers embarking on cross Gulf of Alaska cruises, highlighting the importance of our city as a key destination in Alaska's tourism landscape.

Scott McCrea, President, and CEO of Explore Fairbanks said the regional visitor industry is highly optimistic for another successful summer season.

"Having strong air lift into Fairbanks is an important part to our industry's success, and we are thankful for our partnership with Fairbanks International Airport as we work together to attract new carriers and routes into the market, as well as maintaining strong relationships with existing carriers that have serviced our destination for many years," McCrea added.

"Reflecting on the journey we've embarked on since 2019's record passenger levels, it's clear that FAI isn't just recovering post-COVID: we're growing our market and breaking passenger records. Looking ahead, we're not just sticking to the basics. We're dreaming bigger - enhancing our facilities, introducing new service, and pushing for more connections that matter to our community and visitors. It's all about making sure that everyone stepping through our doors finds more reasons to smile and that we offer the most opportunities to all travelers. Here at FAI, the sky's just the beginning." Angie Spear, Airport Director, shared.

As we welcome the summer season, FAI is committed to facilitating memorable journeys for all travelers, whether they're embarking on adventures of a lifetime or returning home to Interior Alaska.
