The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (Alaska DOT&PF) Civil Rights Office, in partnership with the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Alaska, is pleased to host a Small Business Matchmaking Event that provides Alaska’s small businesses with the opportunity to connect directly with prime contractors. This event serves as a great way to kick off the upcoming construction season by bringing small businesses and prime contractors together in a collaborative, face-to-face networking environment.
For small businesses, this event offers a valuable chance to meet with prime contractors, learn more about the bidding process, and gain insights that can help position their companies for upcoming project opportunities. It is especially beneficial for newer firms looking to establish themselves, build industry connections, and better understand how to compete for contracts.
For prime contractors, the event provides an opportunity to connect with emerging businesses, support good faith efforts, and engage in productive conversations that often go beyond what can be achieved through emails or phone calls. Prime contractors are encouraged to bring project managers and team members involved in bidding and procurement to make the most of the networking experience and identify potential partners.
Organizations are welcome to bring multiple representatives, helping create a dynamic environment where conversations can develop into lasting professional relationships. Attendees will also enjoy food and beverages while networking, sharing ideas, and preparing for a productive construction season ahead.
The purpose of this annual event is to build stronger connections between small businesses and prime contractors, increase awareness of contracting opportunities, and support the growth and participation of small businesses in Alaska’s transportation and construction industries.
