Environmental – Integrated Pest Management

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) uses a wide range of pest control methods or tactics allowing for the opportunity to reduce the use of pesticides. Rather than relying solely on chemical controls, IPM uses prevention, monitoring, and control methods including cultural and mechanical controls in concert with chemical control to regulate pest problems.

The Fairbanks International Airport (FAI) is required to create and submit an IPM plan to the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation Pesticide Control Program before applying any pesticides to state rights-of-way.
