River Restoration and Training

The Northern Region Hydraulics Group is responsible for the design – or approval of river training structures against erosion, flooding, lateral migration, bank protection and restoration systems in the Northern Region. Examples of river training structures include: gabions, riprap, wing dikes and stream barbs. Adaptive morphologic modeling approaches are utilized to determine the most effective designs.
