Public meetings are frequently held around the state on transportation planning issues. If one is scheduled in your community, it will normally be announced on the On-line Public Notice site. To get the dates and schedules for the next meeting. Most of these meetings deal with specific plans or projects directly affecting the community and are scheduled by the responsible project manager within DOT&PF.
If you have questions or concerns regarding transportation issues in your community, please contact your local city or borough government's planning and/or community development staff and let them know. They are typically the first point of contact for DOT&PF meetings or workshops in their respective communities.

Public involvement in transportation planning is governed by several federal and state laws, and regulations. Alaska DOT&PF has guidance documents prepared to identify applicable notification, consultation, and cooperation requirements for statewide transportation planning.
Public Comment Opportunity – NMLOCP Update (Open April 08 – June 07, 2026)
DOT&PF is currently accepting comments on the draft Non-Metropolitan Local Official Cooperation Process (NMLOCP) posted April 8, 2026. This update reflects the required five-year review and transition from the previous consultation process to the current cooperation framework.
The draft NMLOCP is available for review, and comments may be submitted through June 07, 2026.
