Welcome to the West Egan Drive Corridor Study project website. This study will develop a plan for transportation improvement projects for the next 20 years within the study area. The plan will identify and evaluate concepts to accommodate travel demands safely and efficiently. Travel demands include passenger and commercial vehicles, transit, bicycles, and pedestrians. Improvement concepts will consider travel demand along Egan Drive, across Egan Drive, and within the study area below.
Initial Preliminary engineering of the widening of Brotherhood Bridge, included a pedestrian/bike path from the bridge to University of Alaska Southeast. Preliminary Geotechnical and environmental work scheduled for summer 2009.
