The Alaska DOT&PF Thriving Communities Program (TCP) is a three-year effort, in partnership with the Alaska Municipal League, to support local governments, Regional Planning Organizations, and tribes in planning and implementing transportation projects to enhance infrastructure, boost economies, and improve quality of life.
Northern Region entities participating in the TCP: Copper Valley Rural Planning Organization, Deltana Community Corporation, Prince William Sound Economic Development District, Manokotak, Cordova and Fort Yukon.

The Alaska Community Connectivity Action Plan (ACCAP) is an initiative by the Alaska DOT&PF, in partnership with the Alaska Municipal League (AML) aimed at addressing transportation barriers across Alaska with a focus on equity. This plan involves conducting a statewide assessment to identify and evaluate challenges and then creating a prioritized list of capital projects to remove these barriers. The goal is to reconnect communities through innovative and multimodal approaches.

Copper Valley Regional Planning Organization (RPO) is the first in the DOT&PF RPO pilot program. RPOs help guide transportation planning decisions throughout the state.
