Thriving Communities Program

The Alaska DOT&PF Thriving Communities Program (TCP) is a three-year effort, in partnership with the Alaska Municipal League, to support local governments, Regional Planning Organizations, and tribes in planning and implementing transportation projects to enhance infrastructure, boost economies, and improve quality of life.

Northern Region entities participating in the TCP: Copper Valley Rural Planning Organization, Deltana Community Corporation, Prince William Sound Economic Development District, Manokotak, Cordova and Fort Yukon.

Alaska Community Connectivity Action Plan

The Alaska Community Connectivity Action Plan (ACCAP) is an initiative by the Alaska DOT&PF, in partnership with the Alaska Municipal League (AML) aimed at addressing transportation barriers across Alaska with a focus on equity. This plan involves conducting a statewide assessment to identify and evaluate challenges and then creating a prioritized list of capital projects to remove these barriers. The goal is to reconnect communities through innovative and multimodal approaches.

The Alaska Aviation System Plan (AASP) is a statewide initiative by Alaska DOT&PF to guide the development, maintenance, and management of Alaska's extensive aviation network, ensuring safe, efficient, and essential air transportation for communities and the economy.

Regional Planning Organization-Copper Valley RPO

Copper Valley Regional Planning Organization (RPO) is the first in the DOT&PF RPO pilot program. RPOs help guide transportation planning decisions throughout the state. RPOs work within their local communities to fine tune transportation planning to meet the needs of local stakeholders. More Information: DOT&PF RPO Pilot Program
