Grooming Application and Documents

This page includes an online grant application portal, pdf grant application, and Snowtrails Program award cycle, including important deadlines.

To apply for funding under this program, review all grant requirements located in the grant application document, complete the grant application via the online portal or via email.  Early consideration applications are due September 23, final applications are due October 7 at 11:59 PM AKST. 

Notice of Intent to Award will be happening early November

The following is the current Snowmachine Trail Program award cycle, including important deadlines.

  • Week of October 2, 2023: The current application becomes available online at https://dot.alaska.gov/snowtrails/
  • October 16, 2023: Application due date. Applicants should submit their application electronically and/or by mail on a USB flash drive. All applications must be received electronically or postmarked by 5pm on this date.
  • Week of October 23, 2023: Applications are reviewed and scored. Notifications of awards are made. Pre-award conferences are scheduled.
  • October 30 - November 3, 2023: Approved applications awarded. Grant agreements are signed and implemented.
  • April 30, 2024: Final reporting due for reimbursement of eligible expenses/project close out.

The award date can be extended depending on the winter snowfall season and close out needs. A detailed schedule will be agreed upon following notice to proceed along with the scope and budget of the award.
