DBE UTILIZATION: All projects financed all or in part with federal funds are required to provide Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) opportunity to participate fairly with other contractors in the performance of contracts. See applicable DBE specifications (Section 120 or Item G-120) for project specific race-conscious or program wide race-neutral DBE Utilization Goals. Region(s):This state funded contract will install pivot gates, access controls, bi-level card reader pedestals, loop detectors, and chain link fence at the old Airfield Maintenance Facility at the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. Also included in the scope is installation of access control and an exit card reader at the North Terminal employee parking lot. Work includes saw cutting and removing existing pavement, trenching, installing new conduit and conductors, and reestablishing pavement.

more >The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), in collaboration with the FAA, is initiating a safety and security enhancement project at the Benny Benson Kodiak Airport. The project focuses on updates that address 49 CFR 1542 requirements. The work includes the replacement of fencing and manual swing gates, and installing new culvert security screens, fence skirting, guardrail, a new Access Control System (ACS), a new wireless network tower, electrically locked pedestrian gates, and powered vehicle gates. Portions of the work involve excavating soils that contain Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and Petroleum (POL) contaminants, which will require special handling procedures in accordance with an Environmental Management Plan (EMP).
