
The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) in cooperation with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is proposing to carry out an airport improvements project at the Nunam Iqua Airport in Nunam Iqua, Alaska.
The purpose of this project is to remedy ongoing settlement and improve the Nunam Iqua Airport to meet current FAA design standards. The project is needed to address substandard airport surfaces, settling of airport surfaces, the old age of airport facilities including airport lighting and the snow removal equipment building, and to stabilize and replace the existing segmented circle and windcone.

Project materials will be contractor furnished and are anticipated to be partially sourced from a river gravel bar in the nearby Kwemeluk Pass of the Yukon River.
