ADOT&PF to Host Super Open House

(FAIRBANKS, Alaska) – Fairbanks families can learn about highway and airport projects ready for 2013 construction in one location when the Northern Region Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (ADOT&PF) hosts its first Super Open House. The public is welcome to attend the event Saturday, April 20, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at 2301 Peger Road.

The Super Open House will feature information and booths about projects with major traffic impacts in Northern Region. These include Illinois Street Reconstruction, Goldstream Road Rehabilitation, Nordale Road Rehabilitation, and projects on the Steese, Dalton, Parks and Richardson highways. Representatives from Fairbanks Metropolitan Area Transportation System and Public Employees Local 71 will provide information about their projects.

Public Employees Local 71 will provide lunch, and ADOT&PF’s Maintenance & Operations crews will be on hand showcasing snow removal and other equipment for families. Information about construction employment opportunities will also be available.

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities oversees 255 airports, 11 ferries serving 35 communities, 5,619 miles of highway and 720 public facilities throughout the state of Alaska. The mission of the department is to “Get Alaska Moving through service and infrastructure.”
