(Juneau, Alaska) —The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF) and the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS) have announced an extension of the bidding period for the Tustumena Replacement Vessel (TRV) construction contract.

The new deadline for bid submissions is now June 25, 2026. The extension was granted in response to requests from prospective bidders to allow for additional time to finalize comprehensive proposals. AMHS remains committed to ensuring a competitive and robust bidding process for this critical infrastructure project, which will provide a modern, reliable, and efficient vessel to serve the communities of Southcentral, Kodiak Island, and Southwest Alaska for decades to come. The TRV project is a cornerstone of the AMHS long-term fleet renewal strategy, designed to interface with the unique operating environments and challenging dock infrastructures throughout the region.
