Ms. Hood works is and Airport Police & Fire Officer 2 with ANC Police & Fire Department. She is a duel certified State of Alaska Police Officer and Aircraft Rescue Firefighter.
Ms. Hood enlisted in the Alaska Air National Guard in January 2014 as a C-17 Crew Chief, turning wrenches as a heavy mechanic for the 176 AMXS. After two years she transferred to the Alaska Army National Guard where she joined the O9S program going to a 2nd basic training, and then attending Officer Candidate School (OCS).
She commissioned in Febuary 2017 as a Signal Officer assigned as a Platoon Leader for the 297 Network Support Company working SINCGARS radios and range extension.
In July 2019, after finishing her Master's Degree in Aerospace Science, she transferred back to the Alaska Air National Guard to do Space Operations at Clear Space Force Station's UEWR. She worked for the 213 SWS administratively and the Delta 4 (Space Force) operationally while on an AGR tour for 3 years.
She currently is a Captain for the 168 Wing Plans and Programs doing monthly drills while working full time for the Anchorage Airport Police and Fire Department.
Ms. Hood is a proud mom to a 2-year old son, a baby girl on the way, and is married to another State employee who is a currently-serving military member.
