Mr. Grantham is a former Drafting Technician III with Southcoast Region's Design section, operating Civil 3D Autocad to create construction plans for engineers in the road design group.
Mr. Grantham served in the Unitited States Coast Guard from April 1979 through October 1984. His service is as follows:

- Attended UAS - Construction Technologies, Associate Degree and ITT Tech for Autocad
- Served 2 years Alemeda, California on USCGC 378 ft. Coast Guard Cutter Sherman
- Tour Pacific Coast Mexico to Alaska North Pole for Fishery & Drug Patrol
- Served 2 years Juneau, Alaska at Station Juneau NAFA Exchange
- Building Maintenance, Remodeling, Shipping & Receiving, Small Boat Seaman Crew
- Served 2 years inactive duty
