The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is planning to construct road and drainage improvements along Victory Road as part of the DOT&PF's Preventive Maintenance program. The existing pavement shows signs of deterioration and possible structural failure. Insufficient drainage ditches and missing and/or damaged culverts allow runoff to collect alongside the road, contributing to structural damage. Improvements will address short-term immediate needs to extend the useful life and maintain the functional condition of Victory Road, thereby substantially reducing maintenance efforts and costs.
This project will resurface Victory Road, improve drainage ditches and culverts, evaluate new culverts for Packsaddle Creek crossings, and install signing and striping. This project is being developed in conjunction with the Glenn Highway MP 66.5-92 Pavement Preservation project.
Final design is underway, and the environmental document has been completed and will be updated prior to construction.
Preliminary Engineering, Survey
and Field Activities: In Progress
Final Design: Spring - Summer 2024
Construction*: Summer 2025
* Note that construction may be concurrent with a phase of the Glenn Hwy project.
