(ANCHORAGE, Alaska) – Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities is saddened to report that a contract worker suffered a fatal injury on Friday, February 16, 2024, on the Seward Highway MP 75-90 Rehabilitation project. The incident took place during bridge removal at Twentymile River.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, coworkers and colleagues. 

The incident is under investigation by Alaska Occupational Safety and Health, Department of Labor.
