Thank you for being a Partner in Safety! Partners in Safety is DOT&PF's new outreach program to create new opportunities for us to hear your concerns and ideas. As the Department implements the Safe Systems Approach, it is time to move beyond traditional data sources, which relied on crash reports, and hear from the real experts about where roadways feel safe (that's you!).
We have two programs dedicated to improving road safety: the Alaska Highway Safety Office (AHSO) and the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP). AHSO focuses on driver behavior like correctly installing child car seats or buckling up, and HSIP funds engineering projects like installing guardrail or crosswalks.
Our first event was in Anchorage on September 18, 2024. Our second event is planned for Juneau on February 27, 2025 (see below for more information). We will be coming to communities like Bethel, Delta Junction, Sitka, and Utqiagvik before the end of 2025. Our goal is to visit every metropolitan area and as many regional hubs as possible.
Please take a moment to complete this survey to give us feedback about your community. New survey links for other areas will be posted as we travel around the state.

We're heading your way, Juneau! We are hosting an open house on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at the University of Alaska Southeast Rec Center from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to share information with you about our Partners in Safety program and hear from you about your road safety concerns.
In the meantime, please take our Juneau road safety survey! This is your opportunity to tell us about how safe you feel traveling around the community, specific roads or intersections you're concerned about, and what you think we can do to address your safety concerns. We will share the results of the survey at the public open house on February 27.
