- The Tustumena's annual overhaul for FY-2025 is currently in progress
at JAG Shipyard in Seward, AK scheduled to take place from January 1 to March 24, 2025.
During this period, the vessel will undergo its annual firefighting and lifesaving
system tests and inspections, along with U.S. Coast Guard and American Bureau of
Shipping annual surveys for Hull, Loadline, and Machinery. All regulatory deficiencies
and findings will be addressed.
In addition to other repair, renewal, upgrade, and preservation efforts the vessel
will receive new foyer double doors, a new forward mooring winch motor, and enhancements
to the vessel's navigation lights. Structural work will include weld repairs on both strut
barrel support arms and restorations to various piping systems and steel sections as needed.
Both main engines and one auxiliary generator will undergo major overhauls.
