Purpose of Public Transit Grants in Alaska
To provide transit capital, operating assistance, and program administration throughout the State, to non-urbanized areas (less than 50,000 in population) for public transportation.
Rural Transportation Assistance Program (RTAP)
The Rural Transportation Assistance Program (RTAP) provides a source of funding to assist in the design and implementation of training and technical assistance projects and other support services tailored to meet the specific needs of transit operators in nonurbanized areas.
