Jim Amundsen

Mr. Amundsen is a former DOT&PF's former Central Region Highway Design Chief. He was responsible for leading the 45 professionals in the Design Group in delivering the the Highway Repair and Reconstruction Program annually for Central Region.

Mr. Amundsen served in the United States Army, Corps of Engineers, and graduated commissioner from U.S. Military Academy. He served eight years as an Army Engineer Officer (Rank from 2LT – CPT) with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in a series of progressively more responsible leadership positions with troops and civilian construction. He was responsible for construction inspection, public works management, project design, personnel management, and Combat Engineer support, with service in Germany, Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq, including service during Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

  • October 1988-June 1990: Fac. Engineer Activity Korea, Project Manager & CDR. DEH Area II, ROK
  • July 1990-April 1991: 317th Engineer Bn., Co. CDR, Assistant Operations & Supply Officer, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Iraq
  • April 1991-August 1992: V Corps ACE, Operations Officer, Frankfurt, Germany
