Statewide Community Connectivity Action Plan
The Alaska Statewide Community Connectivity Action Plan (SCCAP) is a two-year initiative, beginning in September 2024, aimed at addressing transportation barriers and reconnecting communities through multimodal solutions. All communities are welcome to participate in SCCAP.
The Alaska DOT&PF, Alaska Municipal League and Federal Land Management Agencies are working together to combine transportation and transit vulnerability assessments along with community engagement and data collection to support economic development and equitable access.
Deliverables include:
- GIS and Data Portal - to equip planners, policymakers, and community stakeholders with the tools to systematically assess and enhance equity in transportation planning and to implement changes that ensure more equitable transportation outcomes.
- Transit Framework – to improve transit equity, ensuring that all Alaskan communities, especially those that are marginalized or geographically isolated, have reliable and affordable access to public transit.
- Transportation Framework – to enhance equity in transportation planning & to implement changes that ensure more equitable transportation outcomes
