This project will demolish the existing snow removal equipment building (SREB) and will construct new, standard size (52'x50' exterior 2400sf interior useable space), heated, SREB on concrete foundations to serve as warm storage for the snow removal equipment at the Gambell Airport. New SREB to be constructed at same location as existing SREB.
The current SREB is a wood framed building built in 1999 and is in poor condition. The interior building is a gravel floor, needs new LED lighting, interior paint, and a new heating system. The exterior needs new siding and new fuel tanks with security fencing around the tanks.
Covered storage is required for the FAA funded snow removal equipment and new equipment requires heated storage.
