(Anchorage, Alaska) —The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is advising the public of important changes to parking and access for personal use hooligan fishing along the Turnagain Arm.
Three designated parking areas are now available between Milepost (MP) 80 and MP 83 of the Seward Highway. These lots are connected by a multi-use pathway, providing safer and more convenient access to popular fishing locations along Turnagain Arm.
The addition of these facilities represents a significant improvement in safety for highway drivers and users participating in the annual personal use hooligan fishery.
With these lots and pathway now available, highway parking is no longer permitted in this area, and users should instead park in designated parking lots.
DOT&PF reminds the public to:
Please contact your local Alaska Department of Fish & Game (ADF&G) office for questions about the personal use hooligan fishery.
