Birch Hill Bicycle and Pedestrian Facility

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), in cooperation with the Alaska Division of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), constructed the Birch Hill Bicycle and Pedestrian Facility project in the summer of 2017. The project was responsible for constructing an approximate nine-foot-wide asphalt multi-use path the full length of the Birch Hill Road with access to the Birch Hill Recreation Trail System. The path is currently complete with minor construction planned for the beginning of summer 2018. The bike path is constructed to roadway standards, complete with safety features and premium asphalt surface. After construction is complete this summer, grab your bike and enjoy!
