ADOT&PF to Host Super Open House

(FAIRBANKS, Alaska) – Interior families can learn about highway and airport projects ready for 2016 construction in one location when the Northern Region Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (ADOT&PF) hosts its 4th Annual Super Open House. The public is welcome to attend the event Saturday, April 16, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Hutchison High School, 3750 Geist Road.

The Super Open House will feature information about over 50 projects with major traffic impacts in ADOT&PF’s Northern Region. These include College Road Right Turn Lanes, Peger Road Resurfacing, Aurora and Auburn Drive Resurfacing and projects on the Parks, Dalton and Richardson highways. Representatives from the City of Fairbanks, University of Alaska Fairbanks, Fairbanks Metropolitan Area Transportation System and Public Employees Local 71 will also share information.

Public Employees Local 71 will provide a complementary lunch and employment information, and ADOT&PF’s Maintenance & Operations crews will be on hand showcasing snow removal and other equipment for families.

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities oversees 237 airports, 9 ferries serving 35 communities along 3,500 marine miles, over 5,600 miles of highway and 839 public facilities throughout the state of Alaska. The mission of the department is to “Keep Alaska Moving through service and infrastructure.”
