(Anchorage, Alaska) – Passengers can now take Alaska-made microbrew to share with friends and family in the Lower 48. Silver Gulch, a brewery and retail outlet from Fox, Alaska, opened today at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC).

Located inside security in the South Terminal at the entrance to the C concourse, the outlet is unique as it allows customers to purchase growlers or six packs of beer to go, as well as offering dine-in pizza and beer. Owned and operated by Glenn Brady, the project has been in the works for about a year.

“It has been our goal to develop food and beverage and retail concessions that are truly Alaskan in concept and style,” said Javier Robinson, Concessions Manager at ANC. “This restaurant offers a great dining option post-security, and also allows passengers to take Alaska with them by offering packaged beer and other retail items to share once they’ve reached their destination.”

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities oversees 255 airports, 11 ferries serving 35 communities, 5,619 miles of highway and 720 public facilities throughout the state of Alaska. The mission of the department is to “Get Alaska Moving through service and infrastructure.”
