511 Traveler Information System Temporarily Down

(JUNEAU, Alaska) –- The entire 511 system is down due to a problem with a switch in the LogicTree data center. The system includes a public website, 511 RIDE and the phone system. LogicTree is the contractor that operates the system for the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities.  Technicians hope to have it operational by 12:30 pm. 

The Department will monitor the site and alert the media once it is fully functioning.

511 in the Traveler Information system the state uses to inform citizens about road conditions, ferry arrivals and departures, dynamic maps, road weather cameras, construction projects, weather service watches and real time public transit schedules.

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities oversees 255 airports, 11 ferries serving 35 communities, 5,619 miles of highway and 720 public facilities throughout the state of Alaska. The mission of the department is to “Get Alaska Moving through service and infrastructure.”
