DOT&PF Invites Public to Attend Sterling Highway MP 45-60 SEIS - Alternatives Update Public Open House

(ANCHORAGE, Alaska) – The State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) will hold a public open house for the Sterling Highway MP 45-60 Project Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) Alternatives Update.

Time:  Open House from 4:30-7 p.m.  Presentation begins at 6 p.m.

Date:  Tuesday September 18, 2012

Location:  DOT&PF Central Region Headquarters Main Conference Room

Address:  4111 Aviation Avenue, Anchorage, Alaska

The Sterling Highway MP 45-60 Project involves the reconstruction and/or rehabilitation of the Sterling Highway from Sunrise to Skilak Lake Road, including the possible realignment of up to 11 miles of the highway to a new location  away from  the existing alignment and its close proximity to the Kenai River.  

The open house is being held to update the public on the latest project status and schedule, to identify current project alignment alternatives, and to seek public input on those alternative alignments.
