(Anchorage, Alaska) – Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC), along with ten other airports from around the globe, received Air Cargo Excellence awards from Air Cargo World at the Shangri La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. The airports were rated on performance, value, facilities and operations during the previous year by their airline customers. ANC was the highest rated airport with over 1,000,000 tons of landed cargo in North America. Frankfurt and Hong Kong won in Europe and Asia, respectively.

Steve Hatter, State of Alaska Deputy Commissioner of Aviation said, “We are honored to receive this award. It takes a team effort including ground handlers, fuel and maintenance companies, regulatory agencies and airport employees to achieve this recognition.  We'd like to thank all of the people and companies involved.  It is great to have our Alaska team recognized by this international publication geared toward air cargo carriers."
