Alaska DOT&PF Issues RFP for AMHS Economic Reshaping Consultant

(ANCHORAGE, Alaska) –The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF) issued a request for proposals (RFP) seeking qualified vendors for an Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS) Economic Reshaping Consultant.

DOT&PF is soliciting proposals to identify potential reductions of the state’s financial obligation and/or liability as related to AMHS.

On March 1, 2019 DOT&PF issued an informal RFP with responses due March 11, 2019. The department heard from interested parties that a longer time frame and larger budget were required. Based on this feedback, the timeline has been extended and the budget is increased.

Proposals are due April 2, 2019, with the final AMHS report due to DOT&PF on October 15, 2019. The budget maximum is $250,000. The target date for implementation of changes to AMHS remains the end of June 2020.

The RFP is available here.

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities oversees 237 airports, 9 ferries serving 35 communities along 3,500 marine miles, over 5,600 miles of highway and 839 public facilities throughout the state of Alaska.
