ADOT&PF Seeks Public Review of 2017 Summer Ferry Schedule

(JUNEAU, Alaska) –The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities proposed Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS) schedule pattern for summer 2017 is now available online for public review. The documents can be accessed through a link on the AMHS homepage at FerryAlaska.com or directly through the following web address: dot.alaska.gov/amhs/share/schedule/considerations.pdf

This is an opportunity for communities to review and comment on the proposed schedule in consideration of community events.

Written comments will be accepted prior to Oct. 24 via email at dot.amhs.comments@alaska.gov and by fax at 907-228-6874.

A teleconference to hear comments and consider adjustments is scheduled Thursday, Oct. 27 at 10:00 a.m. for Southeast schedules and at 1:30 p.m. for Southwest and Southcentral schedules. The meeting will be held in Ketchikan at the Alaska Marine Highway Central Office, 7559 North Tongass Highway for participants wishing to attend in person.

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities oversees 237 airports, 9 ferries serving 35 communities along 3,500 marine miles, over 5,600 miles of highway and 839 public facilities throughout the state of Alaska. The mission of the department is to “Keep Alaska Moving through service and infrastructure.”
