Skagway AMHS Dock Closed Until Further Notice

(JUNEAU, Alaska) – The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS) and the Municipality of Skagway have closed the Skagway Ferry Terminal until further notice. The floating dock used by AMHS ferries submerged overnight and is inoperable to all traffic.

The cause for the submersion is unknown at this time. Alaska DOT&PF is actively investigating the incident. Further updates regarding the cause of the submersion and when the facility will reopen will be provided as necessary.
