Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) Scoring Criteria Update

The update to the scoring criteria is complete.

The scoring criteria for the Alaska Transportation Alternatives Program (ATAP) has been updated to include:

  • Align criteria with Community Transportation Program (CTP) formatting and standards and now includes weighting. Transportation Alternatives Eligible Project Sponsors and Transportation Alternatives Eligible Project Types are included in appendices A and B.
  • This program will no longer be administered as a grant program. Infrastructure projects will be developed through DOT&PF or through federal agency transfers.
  • Matching ratio has been reduced from 20% to 9.03% (Alaska sliding scale).
  • Nomination period extended to 3 months.

The program remains consistent with Transportation Alternatives Set-aside funding requirements.

After the 30-day public comment period ends, the Department will take into consideration all questions and comments. Changes to the criteria will be made as necessary based on public comment and federal regulations. After the criteria have been approved, the Department will announce a call for project nominations. The final criteria, nomination form, public comment documents, and instructions will be made available to potential applicants.
