Welcome to the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities Online Permit System

Welcome to the online Permits System for the State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities. This system allows you to submit permit applications for various signs, construction activities, and events that occur within State-owned rights of way. This system was developed to facilitate the acquisition of required permits.

Not all permits required by the State of Alaska Department of Transportation are included in this online Permit System. The following permits are included at this time:

• Lane Closure
• Highway Event
• Driveway/Approach Road
• Tourist Oriented Directional Sign (TODS)
• Recreational and Cultural Interest Area (RCIA) sign
• Logo sign
• Traveler Information Kiosk (TIK)
• Memorial

Additional permit types will be added to the system over time.

The entire application procedure can be done online with the exception of payment. Online payment is not available at this time.

To use the Permit System, you must set up an account, select the permit type, complete and submit the application, and then pay the address noted on the application.
