Mr. Saviers is the son of DOT&PF employee Shelly Saviers. Shelly is a Human Resources Consultant with the Administrative Services Division.

Mr. Saviers joined the United States Marine Corps on 9/26/11 after graduating from Juneau-Douglas High School. He completed five years of active duty service, stationed in California, Virginia, Washington, and Hawaii with deployments to Japan and South Korea and was honorably discharged on 9/25/16.

Entering the military as a Private, he was promoted four times to his final rank of Sergeant. He served in the Infantry and was a military policeman and a Martial Arts Instructor. He was awarded the Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, two Global War on Terrorism Service Medals, Korean Defense Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Certificate of Commendation, three Letter of Appreciation, three Expert Rifle Qualification Badges, and the Sharpshooter Pistol Qualification Badge.

Mr. Saviers currently serves in the Alaska National Guard and is scheduled for deployment to Kosovo in May 2019.
