Mr. Luiken is the former Commissioner of Alaska DOT&PF.

Mr. Luiken served in the United States Air Force from May 1981 to June 2010.  He was fortunate enough to serve as a pilot and flew the A-10 Thunderbolt II and the F-15 Strike Eagle. He also served in four separate military combat operations; Operation Desert Storm, Operation Southern Watch, Operation Joint Forge & Allied Force, and Operation Enduring Freedom.

Mr. Luiken was stationed and deployed around the world. The last years of his military service allowed him to lead support units that helped operate and maintain Air Force bases and deliver US military construction. His last duty assignment was Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska. He served as the Vice Commander of 11th Air Force.

Mr. Luiken is proud to have served in the Air Force and is very thankful for all the opportunities his service afforded him. Most of all he is proud to have served with so many talented and patriotic Americans.
