Southeast Region Maintenance and Operations activities are headquartered in Juneau, with a Director of Construction, Maintenance and Operations and a small staff of regional managers and administrative personnel. Regional managers include a maintenance superintendent, a maintenance engineer, and an aviation safety and security officer. The regional State Equipment Fleet 
office is located in Juneau as well.
There are eleven maintenance stations in Southeast Region at Gustavus, Haines, Hoonah, Juneau, Ketchikan, Klawock, Petersburg, Sitka, Skagway, Wrangell, and Yakutat. The station foremen are responsible for maintaining and operating the Region’s highways, bridges, airports, seaplane floats, and harbors The Region also contracts the local communities to maintain the State assets at Angoon, Hyder, and Kake.
The Region maintains 1,300 lane miles of State Highway, 115 bridges, 43 harbors, 33 seaplane floats, and operates 10 airports: Gustavus, Haines, Hoonah, Kake Klawock, Petersburg, Sitka, Skagway, Wrangell, and Yakutat. The Region manages an average of 200 leases to airport users.
The Southeast Region State Equipment Fleet procures and maintains 500 vehicles, trailers, attachments, and heavy equipment for all State of Alaska vehicle and equipment users.
The Southeast Region Maintenance and Operations section employs 61 personnel, including managers, equipment operators, and administrativestaff. The Southeast Region State Equipment Fleet employs 16 managers, mechanics, and parts personnel, eight of whom are assigned to outlying maintenance shops.
