Project Description

Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) proposes a project that would make improvements to Industrial Boulevard bringing it up to current design standards. (for project plans click here). The project is funded by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ). DOT&PF is doing the design, and construction administration.

The project would

  • Improve road and shoulder widths for vehicle and pedestrian traffic from Glacier Highway to Maier Drive.
  • Add curb, gutter, and sidewalk on one side of the roadway from Glacier Highway to Maier Drive.
  • Install new storm drain.

To minimize disruptions during construction, the roadway would be unrestricted during the weekdays between 7:30 AM and 7:00 PM.  One lane roadway restrictions would be allowed at all other times of the day and during weekends, except for holiday weekends. 

Project Schedule and Cost

Tentative advertising date:  October 17, 2017.
Anticipated Construction dates: April, 2018 to September 15, 2018.

Estimated Cost: $2,500,000 to $5,000,000.
